        Prefer a one day class?

        GO
      • Why?

In person reed camps are often more expensive, include fluff material that wastes time, and cut corners by providing you with cheap tools you will need to replace in a few years.

Old reed styles are excessively dogmatic and close minded - certain topics are taboo and not discussed. Here you will learn all the fundamentals and tradeoffs of reed making.

      • About

Drew Pattison is the bassoon professor at Oberlin conservatory and has developed a reed making style that takes the best from many different approaches. This is exactly how I teach my students at Oberlin to make reeds, like AJ Neubert, IDRS Young Artist and National Excerpt competition finalist. This approach has be developed through years of collegiate teaching to create a concise and big-picture-approach that works with many reeds styles.
